Mount Pearl Swimming Pool
Built in 1974 the 10,930 square foot recreational facility included a 25 meter swimming pool and aquatic features such as a diving board, children's slide, womblers, Tarzan rope, climbing wall, saunas, a viewing gallery, multi- purpose room and kitchen. Children, adult and school swimming lessons were offered year round, recreational swims were offered on a daily basis, and new shallow water fitness classes were also available. Birthday parties at the pool were quite popular for people of all ages. The Swimming Pool was home to the Mount Pearl Marlins Swim Team and the Mount Pearl Synchro Club. Since the opening of the new state of the art Summit Centre, the swimming pool located off Park Avenue (Squires Place) is now closed.
