MOUNT PEARL MINOR BASKETBALL

The Mount Pearl Minor Basketball Association

The Mount Pearl Minor Basketball Association (MPMBA) was formed in 1997 with a mandate to provide the youth of the Mount Pearl Area an opportunity to develop Basketball skills in a recreational and fun environment. The program focuses on children from Kindergarten to Grade 9 for both Boys and Girls.

The Mount Pearl Minor Basketball Association was founded on the following principals:

1. To maintain a league based upon fair play and equal opportunity for all players, regardless of ability.

2. To encourage enjoyment of the game of basketball in a fun environment.

3. To provide an opportunity in a recreational and/or competitive program that is designed to assist in the development of Basketball skills.

These principals are achieved through the combination of activities the program provides: games, practices, social events, clinics and competitions.  It is our aim that the children participating in the program will gain something positive from each experience, and that those who participate will have FUN.

The Mount Pearl Minor Basketball Association's program consists of a 20 week session running from October to April. There is a 90 minute practice/game session on Sundays, with a banquet at the end of the session.

We currently operate our basketball programs from four Mount Pearl schools - Newtown Elementary, St. Peter's Primary, Morris Academy, and Mount Pearl Intermediate.
